When inspiration finds you
A few thoughts behind this editorial, photographed in September 2024.
At the time, I had a trip planned to Mallorca, but I was also navigating moments I couldn’t fully understand. As creatives, we all face periods when inspiration feels out of reach, when we don’t know what to make, create, or share. That September, I was there, feeling low, riddled with self-doubt, and even questioning whether I should continue pursuing photography.
I approached this shoot with a “now or never” mindset. There was no team, no safety net, just a vision. I didn’t even have a moodboard to communicate my ideas to the model. I discovered Emmy on Instagram, and when we met, she told me she didn’t have much time for the shoot. In that moment, I thought, ‘alright, let’s do it’.
The shoot was quick, spontaneous, and raw. Yet as soon as we wrapped, I felt alive again. I couldn’t stop smiling; I was euphoric. Not only because I had the chance to work with Emmy, who is incredibly kind and inspiring, but because everything had unfolded exactly as it was meant to.
In the end, that day reminded me of the power of spontaneity and the courage to keep going even without clear answers or certainty. For me, photography isn’t just about capturing images. It’s about rediscovering yourself along the way, allowing yourself to feel, take risks, and embrace the unexpected. It’s about moments, connections, and the little surprises that make it all worthwhile. That day in Mallorca was exactly that.
Keep chasing light, chasing moments, and capturing what moves you.
